Question Electrical gremlins !!!

Strange problem with my 2000 GP -- the elecrical system is acting very weird. The car starts and the headlights, horn and wipers work, but the radio, power windows, sun roof, radio and display (mpg, oil life, etc) do not.

The battery is charged, and the alternator seems to be functioning.

Any ideas? Help!
Chuck

Re: Electrical gremlins !!!

check your main fuse box under the hood. GM did away with fuseable links and went to MAXI-fuses in the underhood relay center. Sounds like one of yours blew.

Thanks for the suggestion Rich.
I looked at all the Maxi fuses (as well as the minis) they are OK.
Could the regulator be bad and some circuit breakers are opening up to protect certain systems?
thanks

Just to close out this thread, I had the car repaired today at a trusted garage. The problem was a broken wire in the harness. It was evidently placed incorrectly and rubbed against the metal power steering hose until it shorted out. Remnants of the wire were fused onto the hose. Luckily that wasn't damaged.
The high cost ($450) was due to the large amount of time required to find the problem and the difficulty in getting to it to repair.
