I need some input. I was driving the truck and it stopped, and started right up. 10 miles later the same thing, shut-off, started right up.Next day same thing 40 miles no problems, 3rd day same issues. I realized when key was in the on position I could not hear the fuel pump, as you should. Did the test poured gas and it started, then died. I Replaced the fuel pump, strainer, and fuel filter. It ran for 2 days then again, stopped and started right up for 2 more days then completely died. Changed the relay and checked fuses. I am stumped now, pour gas it will start.

I went through a similar problem last year on my 1996 Yukon and it turned out to be the fuel pump elec. connector. The mechanic was able to start and stop it from working by moving the connector. Hope this helps, Steve

Re: 97 Suburban fuel pump ?
Thanks Shopclod, you were right, it was the wiring harness, the thing is the mechanic did not change it he just said it may have been a loose wire, therefore he charged me $40 bucks and I have not had a problem yet. I hope I won't have to go back in and replace the harness. Thanks again
