mysterious fluid poured into transmission
When refilling the transmission with fluid, I mistakenly poured about an eighth of a quart of either old engine oil or power steering fluid into the transmission in addition to 5 qts of new transmisison fluid. After my friend drove the car around the block, I drained the transmission once more and filled it with 100% transmission fluid.
If these fluids are not soluble with each other, maybe I kept a bubble of the bad stuff somewhere in the transmission, causing problems? The transmission is shifting fine though. Is it enough to just drain and refill the transmission as I did? Or should I take my car to transmission shop? thanks! |

Re: mysterious fluid poured into transmission
You should be OK. Take it easy.
