can't read codes

i have a 96 ford taurus that idles bad. took it to autozone to get codes read. they hooked it up. scanner would'nt come on. they said maybe a fuse was blown in the car. does anyone know what fuse and where it is located. thanks

the fuse that blows is the same fuse for your cig. lighter
