6X9 Rear Speaker Question
I am thinking of doing some upgrades to my stereo system. Instead of buying a componet system I was thinking of making one but, I dont know what brand of a 2 way crosover to buy, I would like to know what you guys would recomend.
I have yet another question, I would like to upgrade the 6X9's in the back I am thinking that they act as the subs. Do they make harder hitting 6x9 one ways, I know for big bass I would need 8"-12" subs but, I am not that big on bass I have a 98 gsx with that infinity sound so I plan on redoing the whole system including wires, amp, speakers Thanks |

Re: 6X9 Rear Speaker Question
6x9's & 8s are for midbase, you'll want to keep 6x9 in the back or uprade them to a 6 1/2' components with conversion brackets. any good component system will come with crossovers with high, mid and low pass to switch between. theres no way to really make 6x9s hit hard, thats the beauty of component sets, set your 6 1/2 driver on the crossover to low and you'll hear better midrange.
you need to choose a box and sub for the specific type of music you listen to. 10's are crisp and clean, but dont push alot of air, they recoil well, and they sound good with rock, alternitive. if you want deep bass, rap rmb, you should get 12's. and dont forget the box. ported, sealed, banpass. banpass restricks the frequency of the wave, ported alows for reqoil, sealed is, well, sealed. agan sellect the box for the type of music. and reamber, please, base your speaker, amp decision on 4 ohm RMS power, THD levels. (Not your thd)
