What kind of specs would you like to know?

Height, width, curb weight, bed length, bed depth, engine choices, transmission choices, tire options, aftermarket availability, reliability, common maintenance problems... ???

Not trying to be a jerk, but 'specs' is pretty general. Post what you want to know and we (my fellow AF conspirators and I) can help you better.

No problem, just remember specifics are always best!
Engine Choices:

1. 4.2L V6, the fuel efficient truck.

2. 4.2L V8, the light pulling truck.

3. 5.4L V8, the workhorse truck.

Transmission Choices:

First is the 5 speed manual transmission, available with all the engines in the short box regular cab if memory serves. Of course a 4 speed automatic is the other choice.

Performance:

Since it sounds like you're looking for a solid performance-oriented truck, i suggest you buy the 5.4L V8. Stock it's a strong running vehicle with lots of oomph, and still responds well to modifications.

For example, the 5.4L V8 in the regular F-series and the Lightning aren't much different other than some internal upgrades, a supercharger (one the new ones), intake/exhaust. Of course there's things like sway bars and suspension upgrades, but the block and the bore is still the same.

As far as what it runs stock, i'd say 0-60 would be around 9 seconds stock, give or take a second either way depending on the driver and the condition of the vehicle. That's not bad for a nearly 8 year old truck!

Conclusion:

I hope this answers your question, if there' anything more specific i can tell you, let me know!
