minor oil leak

got a 88 gmc jimmy and there is a minor oil leak. i believe its coming from the rear. is this a common problem with the jimmy's?

from the rear? sounds like ur differential or your axel might be leaking somewhere... if either of those runs out of oil some serious damage could be done. so... as long as you keep your oil topped off every so often you should be fine.
