Hi:
My mechanic has offered to sell me his 1997 Z71 Silverado w/ Extended cab, 3-door, 350 engine and auto transmission for $6,000-. It has 165,000 miles on it but looks and drives cleanly. It has push-button 4-wheel-drive. Is this a good deal or a recipe for a headache? (He knows I will be bringing it to him to fix.) Thanks, Steve NH |

Re: Should I buy this truck?
If I were you, I'd give him the 6k, but only after HE PAYS to have the drive train looked at closely by a dealer or another mechanic.

Re: Should I buy this truck?
If the truck is in good shape, then it is def. worth $6000. I mean even if the engine was bad you could buy a brand new one from GM for about $2k and still have less then $10K in a late model truck.
