hi guys!

well, i'm new here. hope you guys will let me play. i've been working on my own cars since i was 14 and i like em fast! just got a 1995 firebird for my 18th birthday. it has a v8 but its stock. any ideas on easy mods to pep it up a little? i saw in summit things like a maf sensor, throttle body, k&n air package. i think i can put these on myself pretty easily, not sure what all to get or which sizes. help a girl out please?

Upgraded exhaust (headers, flowmaster exhaust, etc.), aftermarket air filter (K&N). Air foil on the front of the throttle body. How much do you have or want to spend?

Re: hi guys!

i'm hoping to keep it around $1000. do i need to change the whole throttle body? they have 2 different ones in summit and i wasnt sure which one. i've already got the k&n in mind but i want to keep it to things i can do myself right now so i may wait awhile on the headers and exhaust.

There is another web site you might want to check out as well.
tpis.com
If you upgrade your throttle body I don't see why you would go more than the 52mm. When upgrading your MAF, decide if you want to upgrade your air intake system. There are two different kinds. The air foil is an easy bolt on as well. Other than the air intake, somethings you could consider is running better plugs and if you don't now, switch to a synthetic oil. The gains may not be real noticable, but in my 86 TA I did notice better performance over time.

Re: hi guys!

Good advice,
I would also make sure everything is in good working order before you spend your $1,000 on mods...
Brakes, Tires, Coolant change, tuneup, ect.ect...
How many miles are on her?

Re: hi guys!

I don't like recommending flowmaster...too common and are easily out performed. For exhaust, try GMMG, Dynamax...then do the CAI, cutouts, and sensor.
