Question An unexpensive chip???

Hey guys, i recently stumbled upon a chip on ebay.... the thing is $9USD, but is it really good for my car??? I know they usually go for about $100+ but i got a 1990 mazda 626, and is this the way to go for a "20+ advancement in hp" ???? ,,,,For this price i mean....I aint looking for anything high-tech and expensive, but i would like a little boost in ponies....------->

They are a rip off. Remember no HP is cheap.

Re: An unexpensive chip???

They aren't chips, they are resistors, that give false readings from the sensors to the ECU, either lying about ambient temps in the intake, or lying about how far the throttle is being depressed...don't ever buy them.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: An unexpensive chip???

yeah so what if it "lies" wouldn't it give more power and would it really matter if the "computer" in the car gets false readings???

Re: An unexpensive chip???

it doesn't give you more power, it just makes you run really rich because it thinks it has to warm up the engine all the time.

Re: An unexpensive chip???

its wastes gas, makes you run rich, which actually is worse for performance...the only reason it feels faster is because it tells the ECU that you are flooring the pedal...when you aren't. It wont give you any more power...save yourself the $20 and just floor your car around all the time on your own.

Take this advice New2Racing. If you don't then PM me and I'll steer you onto a electric supercharger thats a ripoff also.
