Engine Sputter Help!
Problem is on my 98 Durango, when I start it up its fine as I pull out on the road I get up to about 25-30 mph and it starts to sputter and loses power like its going to stall. Then theres a couple pings from the engine and the rpm's pick back up and everything is fine. Runs completely normal. Its got 73,000 on it and I just gave it a tune up thinking that could be the problem but it wasn't.

Re: Engine Sputter Help!
I have the same kind of problem with my 99 Durango. Im working on changing some of the cheaper sensors first and hoping that i will eventually replace the one that causes the erradic driving. I also think that the same part causes the car to stall out when i run through water.

Re: Engine Sputter Help!
I just solved that sputtering problem 3 days ago. I found out that it was my IAC valve locatet behind the intake manifold. $60.00 part and only 2 allen screws to remove it and one plug. Just remember to clean out the area the old one was in so that the new one goes in and out smoothly. You will have to take it for a little 15 drive at least so that it gets a chance to go through its movements. The old part will either be stuck in the out position or it should be hard to move in and out and it will look a bit black with carbon all over. (Many welcomes to the people who have had a similar sputtering issue.) The T-BONE
