My First Car

Gentlemen,
I am pleased to announce that I am at last worthy to be a member of this site. I have just gotten myself a 1979 Trans Am. It has the 6.6L 403 olds and a 350 tranny. It also has the WS6 handling package with the four-wheel disc brakes. The engine was rebuilt 10,000 miles ago and the tranny 20,000 I believe. Its primered right now, but I'm going to paint it cameo white with the powder blue cloth interior (I'm trying to bring it back to stock). Other than that, the rest is just minor cosmetic work. If any of you have any suggestions, for parts or photos, I would love to hear them, Thanks.

Re: My First Car

Congratulations! Few finer road cars than late '70s T/As. I wouldn't get too excited about the 403, but since you've stated you want it stock, it'll do... WS-6 cars are among the best handling ever built by anyone. Don't let the nay-sayers disuade you from liking it!
You'll find some very good forums dedicated to Pontiacs (including your Oldsniac). Boyleworks.com (muscle cars) and classicalpontiac.com are among the more popular. Performanceyears.com also has a good one. No one there will tell you to put a small block in it...
