Newbie..... Have Tranny Probs and Questions.

Hey,

Ok, I have a 1986 T-Bird 3.8L V6 Automatic, and Lately its been having problems. When I start it and it hasn't been running for a few hours, it doesn't want to immediately kick into drive. Reverse works fine though. What I have to do is take it all the was to 1, then drive a bit to get it going, then gradually go to 2, then Drive. After I get it going it runs fine. and if I Drive say..... to town, which is about 8 miles, then go into a store, an hour later it usually just works correctly, so I know it only happens when the engine is cold, I just don't know WHY, so could I get a lil help here?

Also, Could I get an Estimate on what it costs to have my Tranny Fluid and Filter Changed?

Please Help me out, and thanX in advance.

Sounds like the seals are hard or stiff.

Has the car been sitting for any amount of time?

If it was, it was only a few days...... I haven't gone 1 week without driving it, and Pretty much drive it every day, even if its just short trips.
