WHO WOULD WIN OUT OF A 96 ECLIPSE GST TURBO AND A 96 PRELUDE VTECH, I SEARCH FOR 1/4 TIMES ON BOTH AND THEY BOTH COME IN AT LOW 15s, MY BROTHER INLAW WHO OWNS THE 96 ECLIPSE SAYS HE CAN BEAT A PRELUDE VTECH THEREFOR I'M HOPING THE PRELUDE WOULD TAKE IT, BEING A PRELUDE OWNER AND ALL (93 PRELUDE SI automatic)

Re:
Dead Stock?
I Think It'd prolly be one of those Drivers edge races. I'm inclined to say the Eclipse... Really have no clue tho :P

Re: 96 Eclipse Gs-t Vs. 96 Prelude Vtech
it would most likely be a drivers race.

Re: 96 Eclipse Gs-t Vs. 96 Prelude Vtech
I think the Lude's didnt come out w/200HP til 97 so I gotta give the nod to the GS-T

Re: 96 Eclipse Gs-t Vs. 96 Prelude Vtech
Well, the 93-96 Prelude VTEC made 190, and the 97-01 made 195. However, the 97-01 was significantly heavier. The fastest VTEC 'Ludes are generally the 95-96.

Re: 96 Eclipse Gs-t Vs. 96 Prelude Vtech
definately a drivers race here , those gs-t's are slobs big time for a sport compact !! i would prolly tip my hat to the prelude tho , when it comes down to two cars , one boosted and the other N/A , making almost equal power to weight ratio's i always lean toward the one thats N/A

Re: 96 Eclipse Gs-t Vs. 96 Prelude Vtech
Stock for stock it'll be an even race, but eclipses have an unbelievable amount of potential for easy HP. For example, you can pull a vacuum hose here and plug something there and raise your boost for free and run well into the mid 14's for free.
Altough not impossible, you can make a prelude run 12's, but it's not as easy as making an eclipse run 12's. |

OT, i dunno , b series motors have about the same , if not alot more potential than the H22

Re: 96 Eclipse Gs-t Vs. 96 Prelude Vtech
very true to a point....a stock cast iron B seires block is not adquite for more than 350HP where as the H22a block is much more sturdy though it is still cast iron and can probably reliably handle 400-450Hp...but hten agian im not a honda fenatic...this is just what i have gathered from every one i know loving hondas as i love RX-7's...the b-series block design how ever is strong enough when made from cast or forged aluminum to sustain 600HP....now thats amazing out ofa 4cyl with an 84mm bore.....

B-series motors are'nt iron, Honda usually chooses aluminum for thier blocks. |
