Driver / Passenger Power Windows
I have a 1988 4runner and both the driver and passenger power windows stopped working while they were down. There was rain called for later in the evening. I could not locate a blown fuse. I took the inner door panels off and connected a wire directly from the battery to the window motors. I was able to roll the windows up.
Where is the fuse located for the power windows? I pulled all fuses located in the driver kick panel and all appeared fine. any other help whould be appreciated... thanks |

Re: Driver / Passenger Power Windows
If you look past the driver kick panel fuse block, you should see two yellow circuit breakers. The breaker may need to be reset. The small hole on the yellow face is used to put a small object in the hole and reset the breaker. The 88 should be the same as my 89.Check both.I'm not sure which one is for the door windows.I hope this helps to fix your runner.

Re: Driver / Passenger Power Windows
I removed the breakers one at a time. With one removed the power door lock switch stopped working. with the other removed the rear window stopped working. Should the driver / passenger windows be on the rear window breaker or the door switch breaker?
Thanks |

Re: Driver / Passenger Power Windows
The power windows get the power from the same circuit breaker as the rear window. The curcuit breaker feeds the power to the door control relay. The door control relay also get power from the IGN fuse(7.5 amp)Check that fuse.I believe that power from the curcuit breaker then feeds power to the window switches.I hope this will get your windows working.
