electric eclipse

Has anyone ever seen one done? i know a lighter crx or civic hatch or something would prolly make a better doner but i was thinkin if i could find a cheap 1g or 2g shell with a bad motor it would take about 1500 for the motor.. another grand for a controller, at least a grand for a battery pack and 500 for various stuff.. so thats what like 4000+ doner? if i found a good doner for under a grand i could have a very unique eclipse for 5k possibly

Re: electric eclipse

Yeah, except who in the world has done this? Why would you? Turn a sports car into a Honda electric car? No thanks...

So make it and be the first. The motors are $3000 total average.

Re: electric eclipse

yeah and theres various other cost so to make one thats fast its prolly closer to the ballpark of 8-10k... for 5 k i think i can have one a lil faster than stock.. the key to somethin like this tho is sponsership.. not demention long hard planning... so who knows in a year i might pop up with one maybe not.. either way it peaks my interest.

Re: electric eclipse

i have a 93 eclipse 1.8 that needs a motor you could convert it. the trans(5speed) is good the interiors almost perfect and theres no rust on the body. it does need a paint job i live in lancaster pa and you could have the car for $600 obo

I think that is a good idea. Especially considering the price of gas! And not all the electro's are slow....look at porche, theyve been tinkering with them so theres gotta be a plus. Also NO oil burn off, pistons, and lots of common problems with internal combustion engines and rotary. just my opinion.
