OBX intercooler Questions
OK heres the deal... Im thinking of upgrading to a front mount on my 90 tsi. Ive been looking on ebay and this seems to be the best deal. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33742. I can get it for 12 bucks a month. Anyhow... I have a small 16g, k&n intake, muffler tip, wires ect. nothing big other than the turbo. Im running 15lbs of boost and still running rich. If i get this intercooler, would it be to big for the small 16g... like would I get a lot of lag from it. Do you guys think i should go smaller than this one or is it a good size. I doubt ill be upgrading the turbo but i will be doing other things like exhaust and such. If it is a good idea, what kind of gains would I expect to see. Any input would be great... Thanks...

i'd do hard piping for your SMIC and get exhaust first, because the SMIC will cool enough air that the small 16g is pushing. then get a FMIC and piping later on down the line if you really want it...
BTW... SMIC = Side Mount Intercooler FMIC = Front Mount Intercooler

Yeah but I can get the intercooler for 12 bucks a month which is cheap as hell. A good exhaust custom built would be like 250 and up. Anyhow... what kind of gain would you think would be seen from it quater mile. My best was a 14.5 with bald tires (AWD) and I was breaking loose and spinning on the launch. Also will I see alot of turbo lag from it? Thanks
