Question Ok, probably stupid question, but...

I recently bought a 1984 S10 Blazer, 4WD, and I need to know if the 4wd can be engaged on the fly (while rolling down the road), or if the vehicle must be stopped. This is the first 4wd I've owned, and I don't want to do any damage before I get to try it out in the snow
Also, I know I need to replace the clutch; right now the clutch pedel seems quite high; will a new clutch correct this problem? Thanks for any help...

Do you have to go out and lock the hubs?

If not, you can go from 2wd to 4wd on the fly.

4LO requires a stop and changed in neutral.

In order to change from 2WD to 4WD high, you have to be going under a certain speed... This is a safety feature... You can definitely try and switch at a high speed (such as 85 mph), but it won't engage until you slow down (unless there is something wrong with the sensor
