Rearview Mirror Removal

I feel stupid but I can't see how to remove the rearview mirror off of the windshield mount. I have a 98 Grand Prix with an auto-dimming mirror that has died. The mirror looks like it just snaps on to the mount since I don't see any external screw or tabs, etc. It also looks like it attaches by sliding over the mount from the top going down but for the life of me, I can't see how to release it off of the mount. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.....

Thanks...

Thanks for the quick response. I've done what the instructions indicate to do but I can't feel anything nor does the mirror want to wiggel. I suspect that it's probably stuck on there with 6 years of whatever is in our air as well as the mechanical clip. I'll have more time tomorrow in daylight to work on it....
