Somebody please help. My TRD is bouncing me all over the road!

Does anyone know of a way to make the Tacoma TRD ride softer. I was really bummed out when I took it for a ride on the Freeway for the first time. You feel every bump in the road. Any help is appreciated very much. I'm tierd or spilling coffe on myself.

Pickups in general ride like that. You have to put a load in the bed to make them feel softer. The springs are made to hold weight, not be empty. The shocks are made to control the weight of a moderately loaded vehicle.

Also, check your tire pressure. Keep it at or just a little above the recommended pressure on the door. Too high a tire pressure will make it alot stiffer and more sensitive to road conditions.

I installed the tokico trek masters on the rear of my non trd 04 taco. It did improve the ride quality. It limits the amount of shock rebound over the OEM shocks. The OEM shocks are cheaper versions of tokico and bilstein shocks, depending on the application. Brian is right about p/u truck suspensions. Softer springs would soften the ride but it would also reduce load capacity and height.

I got the TRD Off road package also. But I got it knowing I was going to put a snugtop shell to weigh it down. If you want a smoother ride, you gotta change the rear shocks or weigh it down with something.

I did the same thing. Had the truck about a month before I installed the shell; it did ride very rough before. Having that weight over the rear axle makes a big difference.
