Re: Which Is Louder?

i have an h pipe with 2 camber flowmasters and it sounds loud an x pipe will give you a more raspy, crackly noise... headers also make it a little louder and help performance wise...

Re: Which Is Louder?

If u want to be loud go off road x or h u can barley notice the differnce that i can tell but x is alittle more raspy. Headers are a great hp buy plus it makes it louder. Slp loud mouth cat back is loud as hell when u want it to be and not much louder at idle or cruise then stock.

Re: Which Is Louder?

I've got flowmaster 40s and high flow H-pipe, and it's incredibly loud. But it's got a nice grumble to it. God i love 8's..

Re: Which Is Louder?

unbolt headers for real noise.

headers high flo cat/or none we wont tell =p
3 inch exhaust will add grumble.

The H-pipe produces a nicer sound, (especially the Mac Pro-Chamber) but the X-pipe usually produces a little (read 2-3hp) more power. I think the H-pipe would be a little louder. Although I have an X-pipe on my car, with shorty headers and flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers with turndowns, and I set off car alarms literally every day Just a couple of days ago I set off like 3 or 4 in a parking lot just by driving past them. I think that's loud enough for a daily driver.

I agree, but it wasn't in a parking garage It was an outdoor parking lot. I haven't been in a parking garage with the Cobra yet. I'll be sure to set off some alarms when I do.

As for where to get the parts, I would try summit racing and Jegs, those are my favorite places. Keep in mind though that I have an F303 camshaft, and GT-40 heads. (Which I'm hoping to replace with AFR 165s).

Re: Which Is Louder?

I know what you mean lol. I was at the mall the other day, went through their parking garage. There would be headlights blinkin before I ever turned the corner lol, heard the horns echoeing all over when I parked lol.
But ya when I was in school there where 2 black v6 mustangs, a back v6 firebird, and a red z28 camaro that I set off every single day. There where other but it just depended how close I got to them lol. Damn sensitive ass alarms. Gets annoying after a while.

Well your right about the parking garages and some outside parking lots I can set them off with the rumble but I want it to be louder and sound meaner you know. I might try jeggs or summit for the pipes. It does sound like its going to be an off-road H pipe that im going to end up with.
