Re: What hood is this?

its a modified SiR hood. the mod is call a bad boy hood, basiclly you take metal or fiberglass and make the extensions to the hood. 1phatcx has done this, look through some of his thread he has started and you should find some info..

Dang that looks nice. I like the single wiper conversion and the color. I dont like the kit or bmw style mirrors.

Re: What hood is this?

there's a difference between the hf/si and sir hoods on a crx?(hmm.. yeah I am aware how stupid that question sounds but saddly im serious..lol)

anyway, i am surpised their isnt a company selling those hoods. esp if they did it in carbonfiber with that being the hot thing today.
It doesnt look too incredibly hard to do.. or maybe you guys just make it look easy.

it is actually kinda hard to do, because u have to get it absolutely perfect

and the difference is the center of the hood, the normal hoods sink down in the middle, the SiR ones pop up in the middle

Re: What hood is this?

There are 3 bonnet styles, the one you got in the U.S. which came on all low model Civics and CRXs worldwide including Japan. Then there is the JDM/Euro/Aussie spec "Si" (CRX only in Au) that got the same bonnet but with a small hump on the passenger side (your driver side) right above the timing belt cover of the ZC. Then there is the SiR/VT bonnet that is convex where all the other bonnets were concave. It was also used on the '90-'91 facelift for all model Civics in Japan.

yeah now that I think about it. You can either make the front of the hood stick too much foward and making it kinda goofy looking.. or too much back and smash the lights... still, w/ practice I wouldnt mind attempting it with no other reasons then for shits and giggles.

The US always gets jipped...
