'03 - adjusting o/s rear view mirror?

Hi Folks,

My driver's side rear view mirror is a bit loose - the mirror housing itself (i.e. the part that rotates and contains the glass). Years ago on my old Pathfinder this was a pretty simple fix. However, on the Yukon, I'm having a hard time accessing what I assume will be a mounting bolt.

Has anyone opened up their mirrors? I've tried accessing from the courtesy lamp nacelle underneath, and through the panel on the inside of the door. I understand the insert piece (painted/chrome/black plastic depending on trim level) may come out utilizing four clips and double-sided tape, but I'm really afraid to try to yank it out.

Thanks in advance for any help...

Take care,
Jerry

Re: '03 - adjusting o/s rear view mirror?

Hey Vroom. I recently replaced the mirrors on my 01 Yukon w/ signal mirrors. The insert pieces had to be removed for the new mirrors. A friend of mine did the work for me, but looking at the mirror, under the insert is just the plastics of the mirror w/ some adhesive and 4 holes were the insert clips into. the inserts on my mirrors came off pretty easy.I don't think you will be able to tighten anything inside the mirror by removing the insert. Hope this helps.

Re: '03 - adjusting o/s rear view mirror?

Thanks - I appreciate the info. Hmmm...now I'm wondering how the mirror component is mounted to the base? A mystery... Thanks again!

Take care,
Jerry

Re: '03 - adjusting o/s rear view mirror?

Hi Dean...I've responded to you a couple of times. I never had a projector headlight for sale. I do have the stock parking/drl lenses available as a set if you're interested.

Take care,
Jerry
