93 tranny problem

i had the tranny and clutch replaced on my 93 4x4 explorer in febuary of this year and recently. it started not wanting to go into gear. this usually happens in 1st from a stand still. what happens is that it either wont go in to gear or it pops out of gear. it is starting to do this in reverse now so i need to get it fixed soon.any ideas would be helpful

Re: 93 tranny problem

was this a factory rebuilt tranny or salvage? sounds like a syncro problem or shift linkage.

Re: 93 tranny problem

Most factory rebuilt trans.engine, transfer case etc.usually have 12/12 or more warranty.you might check that first before have repairs done.It still could be a shift fork may have slipped out of position and it could still be syncro problem,or shift rail,or linkage.but check on warranty first.

The hydralic problems within this clutch system can be horrible also. Make sure hydralic system has NO air in it. Good luck
