Hey guys...i have some stuff that looks like metal shavings shooting out of my exhaust. I recently had a carbon built up problem with the car got it taken care of..so now im thinking its the Cat thats dissinigrating becuz its clogged or something. Am i on the right track here...plz let me hear your opinions. and if it is the cat what can i do? cuz i was told that it is illegal to change the cat before 60k.

If you just had the thing de-carboned or whatever, it may just be residue from that. If it really is the cat going to bits, there's nothing illegal about having the thing replaced, it's illegal to discontect it or remove it.

Unless your car is more than 20 years old like mine!

Hope that answers your question somewhat... i'd say have a reputable exhaust place check it out; see if they'd give you a free inspection/estimate.
