98 Astro hesitates -- no engine codes

HI. We need your help before we just stick a bomb under this thing! My husband has mechanic background but no time. We bought this Astro in December of '03 and have already dumped $1600 into it. We've had it in because it hesitates in the mornings and when it's rained or heavy dew -- NOT when it's warmed up (slight hesitation at higher speeds but he doesn't sense it -- it's a woman thing). It is currently not revealing any codes at all. We've had the total tune-up done, fuel cleaner ran, new plug wires (even new replacements after the tune-up) and it still does it. It does not rev the engine as a transmission slip might. Any ideas? He and his mechanically inclined friends have not been able to pin-point it.

Hi, my neighbour has 1997 astro, that had the same problem, the local garage did a tune up and bunch of stuff the did not fix the problem. Finally after spending lots of dollars, he took it to another garage and the found and crack in the Coil Pack, they replaced and they have not had a problem since. The other garage was about to do a $1000, replace the fuel pump, trying different things before my neighbour gave up on them.
Hope this helps

Thanks for hesitation help

Tableman, Thanks for the reply and SO fast. I will tell my husband today and we'll see if we can "TABLE" the issue. Thanks so much.

Regina
