1 flat on AWD, doI need 4new???

I have a KIA Sorrento AWD and 1 flat tire. Les Schwab informed me that I need 4 NEW tires so that I don't screw up my transmission. The tranny place says that 2 new tires will suffice. Any more advise out there??

You should check with KIA direct. It will depend on how sensitive the AWD system is for the vehicle. The service department at the dealership should be able to tell you how much fudge factor they have built into the system. First check to see what the tread depth is on all four tires. They will need to know that. For some vehicles the drive system can only handle up to 3/10" difference among the four tires' O.D.s. If you run with one or two with more tread, you risk burning up the differential.
