a horn is just like a speaker...so probly, just wires and bolts holding it on
but ferrari's horns sound just as weak as the 3000GT's....no UMF into it lol!

wow, this thread canNOT go unnoticed by the non-newbies here. just be lucky you're not @ 3si...b/c not only would I, but also everyone else would flame flame flame you.

so you love the VR4, but the horn...there's just something that's not right. Hmm, guess you should get rid of your car then, woop woop. Do you THINK that the manufacturer gives a C-R-A-P about how the freakin horn sounds? Hell, i bet the Ferrari horn sounds like crap too!

If you have to use your horn all the time and are embarassed or worried about how it sounds, you probably shouldn't be driving a VR4. Sorry to be very frank and curt, but with all the stupid aesthetic mods out there, this one has just hit the very bottom.

I mean who is gonna spend money to upgrade their horn? Hell, if you wanna do something remotely cool, why not hook up a PA system to your car or a megaphone. Ya, do that, cuz that sounds much better than a stupid horn upgrade. And ya know what's even better, b/c you did that mod, your car will go faster, perform better, and be more powerful, just b/c you modded the horn.

go figure...

Haha...take it easy on him. It's not like he said he wasn't gonna drive the car any longer or he's going to sell it because he doesn't like the horn. He simply is unhappy with a stock part and wants to replace it. Why flame him for asking if he could go about doing it? Clearly you wasted your own time and my own by writing what u did. I was not going to respond to this thread until I read your post. The one thing I love about these forums is there is almost no flaming going in here, even when repetitive questions are asked. I'd hate to see these forums go to trash because people are going to start "flaming" people for questions... The forums are used to help people, not see how much of an e-thug asshole you can be day in and day out. The only one going to end up getting flamed is you. Good Day.

how about we all just relax, this is a friendly forum, why dont we just keep it like that....

anyway, i can see why you wouldnt like the horn, is is a little nasal, but you can think of it as a very euro/asian horn, and is like wut they have over there.

Re: love my vr4, but hate the horn

you guys need to calm it down a bit.
everyone is different and likes different things, he for one wants to have a better horn sound, so what.

i'm guessing you could go to a dealer, go to parts and ask for a horn and install it yourself. i honestly don't know much about horns

Well said Young.

I don't like the horn either. Revving the engine is louders. We get these fantastic looking cars with phenominal performance and the fricking horn tweets like a parakeet in a bucket. Sad.

I thought about replacing them at one point, but I use it so infrequently, that I never did.

Re: love my vr4, but hate the horn

Yeah, seriously linebckr, there is no need to flame. Everyone has their own opinions and is completely entitled to them. I personally feel like a pansy, as well, when I use my horn...I only use it 10x a year...but when I do...I feel it really fails to demand the respect a vr-4 deserves.
iamsypderman...perhaps this will help:

Ok, well I'm having a hard time loading Jeff Lucius' site...my computer sucks. But if you look around
www.stealth316.com I know they had something about replacing the stock horn with something a bit louder. Check under the 'garage' and 'technical' sections and I'm sure you'll find it.

Automanufacturers pay more attention to horns then you think. Some cars have dual horns so that they create a specific tone when they honk in unison. Plymouth spent a lot of money to get their Roadrunner's horn to go MEEP MEEP.

If you dont like your horn its no big deal, they sell new horns at Autozone or any other car parts place. Usually its located near one of the headlights, it looks either like a snail shell about the diameter of a baseball or a big long trumpet looking thing about 7 inches long. Just take out the old one and put in the new one.

Unhappy

ya guys, sorry about that. i recant. i just got a little worked up about nothing and had a rough day with classes and meetings.

I appreciate your peaceful admonitions MitsuGT, Young, Yogs, Igovert, Stratocaster. You're right, this forum is for helping any and all who want to learn/know more about their car. I shouldn't have flamed.

As for Jag1718, i do NOT appreciate your reply. I'm not gonna flame you.... but for real... your reply starts out happy, joking, hahaha...then you go and call me an "e-thug asshole day in and day out." First of all, try to be consistent with your ideas and moods when expressing an idea on here. And secondly, Mr. NEWBIE JAG, i gotta hand it to you, e-thug asshole almost original; mad props for using your motor skills and accessing the creative side of your brain. gg.

(i and most everyone prefer witty banter and sarcastic humor over flat out name-calling)

The point of my whole post was to not flame a person for asking a question they're looking for an answer to...If you don't have a helpful response or any suggestions, then why post your bullshit? What do I care how you feel about my response? I could have told you that you weren't going to appreciate it.

Great job for contradicting yourself by saying your not going to flame me, but yet, proceed to call me "Mr. NEWBIE JAG." Speaking of your preferences of witty banter and sarcastic humor...way to became a name-caller yourself. Mad props to yourself for such creativeness and ability to prove your intelligence to a bunch of people over the internet in an attempt to embarass me when in reality, you just embarassed yourself TWICE in the same damn thread.

Oh Jag, cmon now, you need to lighten up a little bit, listen to Young's advice. But if you wanna dabble... then good grammar there, 'way to became a name caller.' And i wasn't name calling, just look below your name when you to the left of each of your posts...it says AF Newbie. gg.

That's fine, I'll take it easy. I have just one question for you. Why is it you say good game after every post towards me? I'm guessing your still in college and play some sort of internet game which is why you keep saying it. I don't see how these forums have anything to do with a game. Perhaps you could explain it.

Re: love my vr4, but hate the horn

Guys, just chill and forget about it, otherwise Yogs will end up closing and locking the thread, and the original poster wont ever get his question answered. Be respectful, you wouldn't want a thread you started to be wasted like this...someone just be the better man and don't respond

As far as the original post...here is the page I was looking for before:
