Explorer Anti-theft System

I have a 93 Ford Explorer with 160K on it. The vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft system. I believe it was OEM. You must press the remote keyless entry "unlock" button before the vehicle will turn over. If you do not press the "unlock" button, the Explorer will not even try to start. It has worked well, but now the vehicle is only used around my farm to hunt. I would like to disable this feature because it is becoming a pain. How can I do this?

On another note... This is a great vehicle to run around in the woods with. It's like a tank!! I beat this vehicle and it just keeps going!!

Thanks,

Re: Explorer Anti-theft System

Nope, that's not OEM. Take the bottom dash down and trace the wires from the ignition switch. You should see a red/light blue wire. That's the starter wire. If you see it being branched off and going through a relay, take that relay off. That's what is keeping the car from starting.
