My son has a 95 z28 and APPARENTLY(still being diagnosed) either the head gasket blew or the block cracked. I now he was good about checking fluid level, oil changes, etc. I am wondering is this a rare event for this year Camaro, or this engine, or has this been a problem?

Re: 1995 LT1 head gasket
i jus put a new motor in my camaro, its a 96 z28, i had a rod start knockin in my old one, never heard of them blowing a head gasket, or crack the block, the lt1 has a bullet proof block that is suspost to be imposible to crack, so i would scratch the cracked blcok, i never threw a rod bc the block is bullet proof, real touph!

Re: 1995 LT1 head gasket
funny thing and this happen to me on my old LT1 car... They also told me it was a Head gasket but it was not... Have them check the gears for the water pump on the inside of the timing cover... They stripped on mine not letting the water pump run... Unless the test proves the Head Gasket is blown... I really dont think the block is crack but you never know what could happen... Can you give me anymore info on the car like if the coolent was gone or low, the oil looked milky, what was it doing besides overheating...
