2001 Sierra Fuel pump not priming

I'm working on my brothers truck. The truck was surging and missing under any kind of acceleration before and i check the codes (both bank 1 and 2 were running lean) so i changed plugs, wires, pcv, fuel filter.. still nothing... then the truck dies. Won't start at all now.

So i changed the fuel pump because i couldn't hear it come on. That didn't help, so then the relay.....still nothing. I can manually prime it by running a jumper from the battery to the manual prime in the electrical control box. Any idea's?

Re: 2001 Sierra Fuel pump not priming

I had the same problem with bogging and had it scanned at auto zone, was told that the 02sensor were bad. Did not aggree so took to dealership and found out the fuel meter assembly was bad. They checked the fuel pressure it was 45 to 50psi it needs to bearound 60psi. This part cost $403.00 plus $130.00 to istall had to pull the bed off. After this it ran like new truck even with the old sensors.

Start checking fuses under the hood, the fuel pump is usually on ECM-B fuse
