Hey, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I was de-emblefying my truck the other day and at the tail gate, I found something very interesting. The emblems wouldn't come off right for the "chevrolet" part. Upon closer inspection, the tailgate was re-painted and it appears the chevy emblem was epoxied on. Is there any way to get this off without repainting the tailgate? If I have to re-paint, I'm just gonna get a new one cuz its starting to rust slightly on the inside crease, but I don't wanna if I don't have to.

Re: epoxy? on paint
Some bodymen say that they can sand that sort of thing out without damaging the paint underneath. Although the only person whom tried it had to get the part re-painted anyways. Good Luck

Re: epoxy? on paint
the easiest way to get it off is a heat gun and a putty knife...get some 3812 cleaner or laquer thinner used for autobodys. and clean the remaining gunk off. it eats right threw it. trust me this will work. i work in an autobody shop and have done it numerous times. and it DOES NOT damage the paint or metal.
