Water in engine..may need rebuild??:S
i own a 95 eagle talon, the performance intake and filter which was installed sits low 2 the ground, and when i hit the water it sucked it up into the engine...the car coughed a couple times, then stalled, n hasnt started since....i pulled out the spark plugs, changed the oil, and took out the starter and tried to crank the flywheel but found it only turned about half way..mecahnic that looked at it thinks its the crank....ne1 know where i could get this fixed or possibly rebuilt 4 a reasonable price...thanx, D

ya i thought of that 2...only problem is i still have my g2 license....i juss turned 18....ive bin insured with this veichle 4 only 1 month...so it will b pricey from here on out if i claim it...i also have a 1 yr warannty on engine and powertrain only problem is they want 65 bucks 2 activate it then all the money it may cost 2 diagnose the pronlem with THEIR mechanic...n then they tell me if they can cover it or not...n the coverage is only up 2 750 dollars which doesnt seem worth it....

Re: Water in engine..may need rebuild??:S
I hydrolocked my engine pretty bad too. But that's cause I injected water into it! I took it to a shop and it cost $1100 to get it fixed. In reality, it probobly could have cost no more than $200 to fix it myself. And it was $600+ in labor. Unless you tried to start your engine after it died or you were stepping on the gas while it was hydrolocking, it shouldn't have bent anything. But it could have, you never know.
I read a lot on CAI's and the conclusion was that it is almost imposible to suck up so much water to hydrolock your engine unless your driving through a puddle that covers your filter completely. If you want to avoid any possibility of the problem you can put a little filter like the ones used instead of a oil catch can on the upper part of your intake. Then, when your filter is completely submerged, the second filter will start sucking in the air.

Re: Water in engine..may need rebuild??:S
well if that doesnt work your motor is fucked... so you might as well start looking for a new block... either that or buy a rebuild kit!

Re: Water in engine..may need rebuild??:S
its not gunna happen... if you cant turn the motor over with a breaker bar then the starter is definately not goin to be able to turn the motor over! its over, you hydro-locked your motor, start looking for a new motor or new piston rings and rod + main bearings
