93 with 3.8 engine missing problem
Just about anytime theres the least bit of strain on the engine it develops an irregular intermittent miss, or starts shaking at least. Pretty sure its a miss though. It does it most when I'm driving at highway speeds and come to a hill and I either hit the gas to try to maintain speed or the cruise control hits the gas to try to keep it going at the set speed. Otherwise the car starts fine, idles pretty smooth, transmission shifts smoothly in every gear, etc. It has had a complete tune up within the last week and that didn't help. Also took it and had the injectors cleaned. The only thing I know to do is take it to the dealer and let them put it on the computer. Any suggestions? I'm totally baffled!!

I had an "intermittent miss" on my taurus. I poked around and found one of the plug wires had worked itself loose somehow. I put it back on and it ran fine for a couple of days. Then it started doing it again, so I figured the coil had been damaged by the loose wire. I replaced the coil and haven't had any trouble since. If i remember correctly the coil cost me about 30 bucks and took under 20 minutes to replace.
