rear end ratio

I have a 95 s-10 with a small block 350 in it...I recently purchased a limited-slip differential and i was going to get a new ring and pinion as well but i dont know what a good ratio would be....What would be the best ratio for the ring and pinion?

The differential is the Auburn Gear Pro Series....

Thanks for the help

Re: rear end ratio

i believe a 3.73 ratio is stock on most of gm's 5.0L 5.7L performance cars (trans am, camero, etc. i would go with that for fuel economy if it is an everyday driver. it should bring your rpm at around 1500 in high gear which would be great for fuel economy. if it is a weekend ride and you could care less about fuel economy i would go with 4.10 as it will give you better off the line launches but you will sacrifice fuel economy as it will bring your high gear rpm up to 1800-2000. good luck!

Re: rear end ratio

You've probably heard that the rear end is the weak part in Chevy's. It's probably a good time for you to beef it up a little, if you can afford it. A friend of mine just built his up using heavier duty parts from a Camaro, with special bearings. If you want to go through all the expense, and trouble I can find out whom he got the parts from.
