Re: big amp for now

speakers blow from too much power, if you don't send them too much power they won't blow, regardless of how much power the amp is capable of producing. Those speakers won't care whether they're getting 150rms from an amp that can only put out 150rms before clippping, or whether they're getting 150rms from an amp that has the ability to produce 10,000rms at full output.

As long as you don't turn it way up they should be fine, just remember that just because you have a 1200rms amp, that doesn't mean you really have to use all 1200rms. If you hear the subs distorting then turn it down, if you have the subs in a small box where they'll fry before distorting....well, just be careful.

Just for the record, I have my 100rms components on a 250x2 amp, and my 1000rms sub on a 1500x1 amp and I have no problems, it's all about self control.

you don't turn your gain down to limit the amount of power, you match your gain to the amount of output voltaget hat your headunit produces, so when he said turn it doen he meant on your head unit, NOT THE GAIN ON YOUR AMP......just to clarify
