Well got a Z and got a question.

How many of you going to the NOPI Nationals in Atlanta?

Well as 1viadrift suggested if I waited I would find a good car. Well driving by a dealership not to long ago I found a deep forest green automatic, 300ZX '95 NA coupe. Made a offer of 6k they gave it to me for 6500 after everything was said and done, it really hurts the dealership when you talk to the owner of the car before he trades it in. They REALLY come down on the price quick. The car is in GREAT shape, 100k miles exactly everything is like new, hell he even put 4 new dunlops on it before trading it in and had the belts changed all of them. I was more than impressed. Cant wait to get started on making it more ME.

Where can I find the JDM from bumper?

Re: Well got a Z and got a question.

welcome to the z world. get ready to become addicted. check the "Good Z resources". almost all of those sites carry the jdm bumper. no offense, but i can't stand dunlops. had them on my z and then i got the fuzions and the fuzions are much better, and they are cheaper. but hey, at least you didn't have to pay for them.

Like I said I cant complain about the tires, they were FREEBIES!

I am just tring to figure out this radio glitch I have, I think it maybe the amp unit has failed, it is the stock unit still, everything still lights up and it works intermitantly, but I have NO clue how to remove it, and I am not tring break anything. I think it maybe a faulty amp or ground, but it could be an internal fault on the radio.

I would love to get a good sized group of Z owners to make a group showing out at the Nopi Nationals, or for the Super Street Tour.

well if you have the bose system you might as well trash it and replace with a normal aftermarket set-up. there is an amp for each speaker and usually the ohm impedence gets really messed up in 15 year old wires causing your amplifiers to overload and malfunction and your speakers to blow.
my suggestion would be to trash it and replace with all new wires, speakers, and head unit. thats what i did. the z isnt too bad to work on the interior. everything goes back together nicely due to it being held together by screws and not a shit load of little clips that tend to break.

this is a very good site that tells you how to do everything.

Yea...I'd probably start fresh too. Electrical stuff like that is usually a pain in the ass to fix. I'm going to get an Alpine CDA-9835 when I do my system...it's the best head unit out right now...also ~$500 retail. If you're gunna do it, DO IT RIGHT!

Pfft, head units, I thought I knew you guys.

*goes back to his new JWT cams*

Anyway, if I can do it cheap, I would like to upgrade the sound in my Z next year once the engine work is done. Be nice to be able to hear some techno over the pipes

Re: Well got a Z and got a question.

Gotta have a system in your car. Gotta drown out the wannabe-ghetto-yuppie-brat that rolls up next to you at a stop light in his chevy avalanche that mommie and daddy bought him ("rolling" on 20" spinners, of course) with all the windows down with the Yin Yang Twins blaring full blast. This is when a really LOUD system comes in handy the most. Put on some good old Meshuggah...maybe some Killswitch Engage...even some Cannible Corpse if I'm in the mood...scare him out of his wits...I love it...great for scaring old ladies too...

But...I'm DEFINATLY more of a "function over form" person, so I'm not even worrying about that crap until down the road. Right now I have a VERY old alpine cassette player in my car and it is REALLY bad. Doesn't sound good at all, can't get any volume and it BARELY picks up radio stations. I wanted to at least get the intake, exhaust and boost controller done before I worried about any interior or cosmetic crap. The time is nearing quickly. Thank God cuz I'm getting sick of having to listen to what the little yuppie brat at the stop light is listening to.
