Well, how do you feel about it?
I kinda like it, though seeing the Cherokee die is a bummer. I actually like the new styling, seems very Jeep-ish. As long as it really can make the Rubicon trail, I give it an overall thumbs up (but not for the 4cyl version!)

It's not bad, I think the grille should be more like the cherokee, but it's a neat idea. Give it a few years, I think I'll really like it.

I don't really like them. I think they are kinda ugly and plastic looking. And as for the I-4 version, I don't even know why jeep offers the 4 popper, the inline 6 is so much better for everything except fuel economy

It has potential, I suppose . . .
It seems that most Jeep products sell very well . . . why is that? |

personally i don't care much for it, as far as the engine goes, the i-6 is history replaced with a v-6. with more hp but less torque. also the liberty is the first jeep ever manufactured with independent front suspension. for most people it doesn't matter since it never sees off road use anyways, but solid axles in my opinion do better offroad which is why i personally bought my jeep to begin with. you can get more articulation with a solid axle by disconnectino the sway bars, but your limited with a set length of articulation on a ifs. also much easier to work on. however, on road ride is smoother. as far as looks go, it looks to be smaller than the cherokee but definately taller. not bad but i'm kinda partial to my cherokee i guess. i'm pretty sure there going to make a lot of money off of it, seeing how there going after a whole new bigger market. like i said, most people never offroad there jeep anyways. i am not saying it sucks offroad because i'm sure it's capable, but compared to the cherokee, i don't think it'll do as well. just my opinion.

Not bad as a concept, but I think they'll have to work on it to actually sell it. The tires are the obvious thing to change (duh) and blee89xj said all I would say and more...so, there ya have it.

Not bad, not bad
It's a good update on the Cherokee, retains the Jeep look. The whole question of ifs vs. axle is immaterial for 95 percent of the folks who buy these rigs and barely ever leave the pavement. It comes down to how it looks and how it rides ... and kind of like Levis vs. other denim jeans, you're buying a label.

Hey guys...first post on this forum site...
Anyway, about the KJ, it was very questionable to me before I test drove one--I was VERY impressed. I would definitely recommend it for around town driving and SOME off-roading. The IFS creates problems for modifying the vehicle in that IFS is usually more difficult that a live axle to install a suspension lift. It's a pretty good off-roader, but it's no Cherokee or Wrangler, that's for sure. Why do Jeeps sell well?--You're getting a fun vehicle with capabilities unmatched by the competition. People also like to say they own a Jeep, rather than a RAV4 or CR/V. Note: The Liberty is already outselling the PT Cruiser, a really hot vehicle for DC. |

Let's hope that the national recall for the airbag doesn't kill the sales and yes IFS sucks. I own an Xterra and would perfer solid axle. From what I understand it pretty good off road.

I see them all over the place recently. Jeep does a good marketing job, I'll give 'em that! Liberty, RAV4, CR/V...They're all way too GEO Trackerish for me...All grocery getters for the soccer moms, (who's idea of offroading is when they back over the neighbor's flower garden.......by accident!)
Yep, another PTCruiser-type machine that is being marketed for people that never seriously plan on ever seeing a dirt road! If you just need to pack groceries, just get a station wagon! You'll save a few thousand on the 4wd you'll never use anyway! HAHAHA!
