95 4 cyl dakota flips out once a week, dunno

hi all great site here, anyone ever has this problem with their dakota... Runs fine for days then out of the blue it sputters or diesel's while driving at any speed, normally @ lower rpms, salls for a few second then I turn the ignotion off turn it back and it goes just fine again for a few days. I smell gas, like it's trying to sputter up from the intake but theres nothinhg wet I can see when I stop and pull it off to look. I replaced the throttle positin sensor but that didn't make much of a difference so a few days later it now just runs @ a higher idle, say around 2100rpms. I'm thinking about just replacing all the lil gizmos like, o2 sensor, idle air control valve, and etc but I thought I'd give my two cents on here and see if anyone has had this weird sort of thing happen to them...

Any ideas I'm happy to hear what ya think
