'92 4x4 wont engage.....

i love my explorer. 258,000 miles and still running perfect... however there is one problem, the 4 wheel drive wont work. i have the electronic one where you push the button in and it should work. when i press the button all i here is a clicking in the back where the jack is kept. any ideas of what to do??? thanks for your help

do a search on the forums...there are quite a few posts concerning the same problem. Probably related to the electric motor that engages the 4x4.

i agree with shade but you might also want to check the relay, or the switch iv heard of them malfunctioning also
