OBD II-Read Out

When I hook up to the OBD II and turn everything on I do not get any of the ICONS, can't read errors until I can get the areas monitored to show, right? Also the ABS warning light stays on and I have no working instruments. This is a 97 Grand Caravan. The OBD II reader also says no messages. Any and all help well be appeciated, Thanks

Got the OBD II to work and cleared all the codes but still have the ABS light and the guages still do not work, HELP Help, please
