I am having the same problem ( 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2L V8), it ussually starts fine but every once in awhile it starts then stalls immediately, I have figured out that my Idle Air Control Valve is bad, and thats y it stalls. try to start it then just hold the gas in a little for about a minutes, and then let off and c if it stays running.

I would deffinately say ur prob is the IAC

Sounds like its the IAC. Had the Same Problem with my 96 5.2.Cleaned the throttle body and replaced the IAC problem solved. BTW it never showed any codes.
