Unhappy 1992 b century check engine lite on new tranny

I bought this car off of car soup and its a decent car but the lady had a new tranny put in and now the check engine light comes on in frequently,sometimes it comes on sometimes it dont tried to check with the timing of the tranny with gears and it dont come on in certain gears either. i was just wondering if its important or not

Re: check engine lite on new tranny

Take the car to Autozone and have it scanned. You may have problems not related to the transmission. Once you have the codes post again and you should get better advice on what to do to correct the problem. Could be as simple as a bad speed sensor but without knowing what the computer is reading hard to tell exactly.

found the problem

there was a wire that wasnt hooked up i guess the previous owners had it dicontected because this year and make had problems with the torch converter and sometimes my car would kill at stoplights-thats what my car was doing,
and from what i hear and cars sometimes wont turn off if that torch converter opens or closes,something about voltage to it!
anyway thanks guys thought id share a little
