Re: is the KA24 iron cast

it depends on what you wanna do with the car, drift/drag. if you wanna drift go with the sr20det. but if its drag you wanna go then turbo the ka.

yes the ka24 is a cast iron block. And whether ka24 can handle more than an sr depends on the tuner

Re: is the KA24 iron cast

The KA24 is better at producing power, which is what you need for drag racing. However, the SR20 has a better power curve for drifting, road racing, etc.

the sr is also lighter. it might be only a little lighter than the ka, but thats when the ka isnt turbocharged. when the ka does get turbocharged, with all those parts, theres gonna be a considerable difference. cast iron is strong, but it also weighs a lot, its good if you want a lot of power.

Rebuild the block??? Stock block, but forged internals, probably, you have to have forged internals to handle high power safely.

Re: is the KA24 iron cast

yea another good site is www.phatka-t.com there engine has stock internals pushing over 400hp and torque. But i dont think anyone would recommend doing that... especially if you want it to be daily driven.
