Help! Confused about 3sx downpipe and stillen race pipe
Ok, I've been to this page:
http://www.stillen.com/Sportscars_de...id=4024&page=1 and this page: http://www.3sxperformance.com/exhaust-tt.asp What confuses me, is that stillen calls it a "race pipe" and 3sx calls it a "down pipe" and then you can buy a "race pipe" to go along with it. My question is this: If I buy a stillen race pipe, then I don't need a 3sx downpipe correct? Also, I wouldn't need the 3sx race pip either because it looks like the stillen race pipe is the 3sx downpipe + race pipe together. Am I right? Wrong? Help ?

The Stillen downpipe is actually a downpipe + a race pipe (aka test pipe). The "race pipe" is a straight through pipe that replaces the catylitic converter. If you were to get the Stillen version, no you would not need a "race pipe," however if you were to buy the 3sx downpipe, you would still need a race pipe.
Below is a picture of the stock downpipe + catylitic converter compared against the Stillen downpipe. As you can see, the Stillen downpipe includes a section that replaces the cat, so you would not need a race pipe. ![]() good luck.

Hrmm sounds like a sweet deal except it'd be harder to swap in the stock one every two years when they test for emissions here in Massachusetts.

Ya, it might not be quick and easy to swap the stock dp+cat back in, but again, its once every TWO years! i think you wouldn't mind that inconvenience once every 730 days.

Yea I guess, but isn't it hard to attach the downpipe? ..... Ohh wait I'm thinking of headers/exhaust manafolds, the down pipe is easy to bolt on/off right?

Yeah, for those long aftermarket downpipes like Stillen and ATR, just cut them down, get a highflow cat and bolt that on. 3sx actually sells them in combos, if you are subject to emissions.
