How to get the battery out of a '78 z28
So I just recently bought myself a 78 camaro with great mechanics for 1,200. Only problem is the body needs work to repaint, get rid of rust, etc etc. He has a marine battery in it right now and gave me a durabilt sidepost battery to put into. Now the problem is that the battery is under this bar.
http://www.public.iastate.edu/~jrwrigh/Engine%203.jpg Thats not my car, but you can see the battery in the lower left corner under that metal bar. My question is, to get the battery out do I have to get that bar out? Is it some vital load bearing bar that would send my car up in flames if taken out? Should it be tightened to a certain torque? Any and all comments are greatly appreciated

looks like its just a staybalizer bar that you could just take off without any problems

pretty sure its just a radiator support. it should just unbolt and you can get the battery out...
