wont stay running

I have a 93 eagle talon tsi with a rebuilt motor. Only 10,000 miles or so on it. It has been running fairly well until now. To get it running, I have to try starting it about 30 times, each time getting closer to having it stay on. Once it is running, it runs very rough, idling around 500-600 rpm, and there is a delay in the throttle, as well as less power.

This all happend after I took the intake off and unplugged the maf, even though I unhooked the battery to reset the computer.

I took the intake off because it was coming off due to a messed up clamp holding it onto the torbo, so I fixed the clamp and put it back on.

Thanks a ton for anyone who takes the time to reply to this, I have searched on faq pages and all over this forum to find an answer before I made this thread.

Re: wont stay running

is the throttle position sensor plugged in? are all the hoses connected back up to the MAS... makeing sure you are still recirculating the BOV? if all those are correct it sounds like your timing is off or you have fuel problems!

Re: wont stay running

Yeah, throttle position sensor is plugged in, and all the hoses are connected. Another thing wrong that I noticed was that the coolant temp sensor is not hooked up because the wires to go into the plug have fallen out.

Re: wont stay running

The check engine light does come on after I get it running, so how do I check it rather then clearing it? I appreciate the help by the way
