98 740 iL sporadic electrical issues

As the wife was leaving for work this AM, she couldn't adjust the drivers seat, steering whell position. This has happened a couple of times in the last year. It usually only lasts a few minutes but sometimes as long as 15 minutes. We have no idea what causes this and what corrects it. Once it corrects itself everything is fine , and all the memory features work, The only memory function that works while this glitch occurs is that the side view mirrors respond. I would appreciate any suggestions/thoughts...Otherwise we love this car. Any one have an easy answer for the tiny window shades? Our driver side rear small one will no longer retract, Is there an easy /inexpensive fix or am I looking at replacement via the dealership? Hate going to the dealership...Our good one is 60 miles away. Thanks again, Sean , Stockton, CA

The window shades for the small windows snap in and out very easily.You can order one and have it shipped to you and do the install yourself.

Can't help with the electrical issues - check steering column binding issues, or possibly the battery. In my 750iL a bad battery caused intermittment issues with the Nav system which I replaced twice before the dealer figured out it was a bad battery.
