Owned by a celebrity
I was driving back home from the movies and about a 1/4 down the road i stop at a stop sign and all of a sudden i see this lowered Chevy Celebrity blow the stop sign and almost nail me....Infuriated i chased down the K car and tryed to pass him as the road split into 2 lanes..AS i was creeping up beside him i realize the cars full of half drunk girls with a not so intoxicated driver at the wheel. He guns it and his 2 1/2 fart can schreeches as he begins to loose me... Luckily there was a red light and we both stop.He reved his potent 4 banger to about 4000 revs and i do the same.
I began power braking and the light flicks green..i got a pretty good start and was about 2 car lengths ahead of him before he quickly and mysteriosuly blows by me as i see orange white flames spitting out of his exhuast....Completly bewildered i decided not to chase him and i take the next turn absolutly disgusted Wow never knew my Stang would lose to a damn K-car |

Re: Owned by a celebrity
You do realize they did make a turbo charged k-car right also there isn't any such thing as a Dodge Celebrity those are made by Chebby. So most likely his K car wasnt stock if it was spitting flames

Re: Owned by a celebrity
i used to have an 87 celebrity. it was a 125 hp 2.5 i4, which is slower than dirt. there is also a 2.8 12v v6 but i'm not sure how much power it puts out

Re: Owned by a celebrity
My first car was a 1983 Celebrity, nothing like a slow ass carb. V6. The nice thing about the car is, very easy to steer around and blind spots are non-existant. Great beginner car for teens.
I've always wondered really what the stats were on that car, but no results on the net. Can anyone help me find it out?

Re: Owned by a celebrity
dude it shouldnt be a shocker that you lose, you have the slowest mustang since the 4 bangers were made. . . get over it.

Turbocharged Celebrity VS 6 Cyl. Mustang... plus the Celeb doesn't sound like a stock one.
I'd say it sounds right... shocking and disappointing though. Don't sweat it, scarier things have happened.

Re: Owned by a celebrity
what is better a 160HP RWD or a 160HP FWD? and why?

The RWD.
Less components to get the power to the tires, unlike the FWD which is more complicated. So the power at the tires is higher in a RWD than a FWD in the case that you've described.

What about drive train loss? Fwd doesn't expirience(sp) that as much as a rwd does it? |

Re: Owned by a celebrity
won't matter, rwd gets behind most the weight and pushes better tan fwd can drag the weight and b/c the weight sifts to the back...more traction

Re: Owned by a celebrity
I know the whole traction issue I just never knew fwd were worse for drivetrain loss than a rwd.

Re: Owned by a celebrity
We talked about this in physics last year.
Not only is a RWD simpler, it is always easier to push anything, then to pull. |
