Angry Has any one else tried the exhause noise fix?

Some of you might have have heard that you only lose a couple (like 2 hp) when you use your original muffler and an aftermarket exhaust. Bull$h_t!

I have a Stillen Intake, y-pipe, random tech cat and stillen cat back exhaust system. I had a real noise problem. Some suggested reinstalling the factory muffler.

Well, when I tried this I discovered my real problem. The seal between the pipe and the rear muffler had a little gap (less than an 1/8") this gap was mad worse by the gasket blowing out. (it was a new one). So I thought while I was down there I will try the factory muffler. I replaced the gasket, wrenched the stock muffler back on and wow, It sounded near as quiet as stock. Being that it was snowing (put the factory wheels on too) I could not test the power difference.

A couple of days later (and warmer) I gunned an open stretch. High end power is definitely less. It does not like to rev as quickly. It should actually feel faster with the stock tires. It does not. What I think is that people have measured the difference that ONLY adding the muffler give you. (Around 2-5hp) With all the breathing differences I have done I believe that the factory muffler can't hang.

Has anyone else tried this combo. If so, what are your impressions.
